It bugs the hell out of me why this has not been solved.
In the heart of Westminster, a tragic murder unfolded as three men conspired to take the life of 28-year-old Adnan Saleh on the fateful evening of 11 June 2022.
Adnan had been implicated in the stabbing of another man through Snapchat messages received just a week earlier.
Little did he know that he was walking into a carefully orchestrated trap when he arranged to meet with the injured party in Paddington.
Detectives from the Specialist Crime unit pieced together the chilling plot devised by Steven Woods, Majid Kebire, and Fadel Dabbous.
Each of the three men played a crucial role in executing the fatal attack, knowing precisely where and when to strike.
Adnan had been in touch with the man he was accused of stabbing and agreed to meet in the Paddington area.
Unbeknownst to him, Woods, Kebire, Dabbous, and the injured man were already waiting for him at the designated spot.
As Adnan arrived and walked along Sale Place towards Junction Mews, W2, with the group, Woods and Dabbous went ahead into the cul-de-sac.
A CCTV camera captured the moment Dabbous handed Woods a knife. When Adnan entered the Mews, Woods brandished the weapon and lunged at him.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Adnan tried to run back to Sale Place, but his assailants were relentless.
Woods caught up with him and began his brutal assault, with Dabbous joining in. Meanwhile, Kebire observed the fight from his vantage point atop a wall at the end of the Mews.
He eventually approached the fray, drew his own knife, and delivered the fatal stab wound to Adnan’s collarbone area.
Although Adnan managed to break free from his attackers and collapsed further along Sale Place, the damage was already done.
Rushed to the hospital, doctors tried valiantly to save him, but the severe blood loss had caused catastrophic damage to his brain.
Adnan remained in a coma until he succumbed to his injuries on 29 November 2022.
On 8 September 2022, Woods and Dabbous pleaded guilty to violent disorder, and all three men admitted to possessing a bladed article.
Following a 22-day trial, the Central Criminal Court convicted them of the Westminster murder on 12 May 2023. They await sentencing on 27 June.
Detective Inspector Marcus Jones, who led the investigation, expressed his condolences to Adnan’s family, hoping the convictions would bring them some solace.
